Opening Minds, Building Community

NCCJ welcomes you to join us to help eliminate bias, bigotry and racism.  Together we can achieve inclusion and equality for all.

ANYTOWN  A premier week long residential experience focusing on social justice and youth leadership. ANYTOWNä is designed to educate, liberate and empower youth participants to become effective, responsible leaders and community builders.  At ANYTOWNä, delegates are prepared to be the leaders of tomorrow and today.

ANYTOWN Youth Action Coalition (YAC)  Keeping the ANYTOWN spirit alive.  YAC takes a youth centered approach to social justice.  Consisting of ANYTOWN and Bridges alumni, YAC offers continual support to students in making change in their communities, through youth leadership training, mentoring and assistance in developing youth advocacy skills and implementation of community action plans.

BRIDGES  A two-day prejudice reduction program for middle and high school students.  Students gain a greater insight and view of themselves, an understanding of prejudices, a deeper tolerance for other cultures, and a deeper understanding for the racial, ethnic and cultural problems that confront our society.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS ™: Community driven initiative dedicated to promoting dialogues on race relations where participants examine personal perceptions and stereotypes and commit to taking action that improves race relations in the community and workplace.  To-date nearly 4,000 individuals have participated in Community Conversations ™.

DIFFERENT AND THE SAME: Through an innovative program developed by Family Communications, Inc., the company which produced Mister Rogers Neighborhood,  elementary school teachers are trained  to use curriculum consisting of videos and activities to address difficult issues of prejudice including: name calling, hate crimes, stereotyping and non-inclusion.

INTER-RELIGIOUS DIALOGUE:  Promoting understanding and respect among all religions and philosophical beliefs, NCCJ strives to improve interfaith dialogue by sponsoring programs, conferences and discussions throughout the community.

WORK PLACE DIVERSITY: A diversity training program providing participants with the awareness, knowledge and competencies necessary in today’s multicultural world.  Businesses learn how to create an inclusive environment that honors diversity within their organizations and diverse customer base.
