The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) will host its 2020 Connecticut Annual Human Relations Award Celebration on April 22, 2020 at the Marriott Downtown, Hartford, Connecticut. The reception will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by the awards ceremony at 6:30 pm.
The 2020 honorees are:
- Eric and Patricia Daniels
- The Honorable Barbara Hackman Franklin, 29th U.S. Secretary of Commerce
- Floyd W. Green III, Vice President and Head of Community Affairs, Aetna, Inc.
- Barbara Roth, Founder, Tara’s Closet
The Banquet co-chairs are Nancy Bernstein, President and COO, Women's Health USA and Michael Casparino, Retail Banking President, Northern, CT, People's United Bank.
NCCJ presents the Human Relations Award to individuals who have distinguished themselves by conducting their daily lives with open-mindedness and respect -- those who lead by example and are diligent in their fight for human rights and dignity.
NCCJ's 2020 honorees all share a strong commitment to promoting social justice and inclusion for all people, regardless of their identities.They are also dedicated to the communities in which they live and work, and are passionate about fighting against bias and hate.
“We are extremely proud of the tireless efforts, social justice focus and community engagement shown by this year’s honorees," stated Cynthia L. Martin, President & CEO of NCCJ of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. "Each has demonstrated incredible dedication to promoting understanding and respect -- they are truly inspiring leaders who are focused on nurturing an inclusive society for all."
