Summary |
On this date, as we recognize and celebrate women, it's a good time to reflect on how far we have come since white women received the right to vote in the U.S. in 1920. We also need to note that, 100 years later, we still see too much inequality, too steep of a gender pay gap.
The #MeToo movement has brought the extensive number of sexual harassment and rape incidents into the headlines, but an unacceptable number of these incidents still exist. More gender equality needs to take place in sports, healthcare -- and even more for women of color.
So on this date, let's acknowledge all of the advances that have been made and commit to working toward more progress and even greater equality for women.
