To all our friends and colleagues,

In consideration of the World Health Organization's declaration of COVID-19 as a world pandemic, we have decided to postpone our Human Relations Award Banquet from April 22 to September 24.

We are truly saddened to postpone celebrating our wonderful honorees: Eric and Patricia Daniels; The Honorable Barbara Hackman Franklin, 29th U.S. Secretary of Commerce; Floyd W. Green III,

Vice President and Head of Community Affairs, Aetna, Inc. and Barbara Roth, Founder, Tara's Closet.  Each of this year's honorees match the values of NCCJ: advancing equality, promoting justice; building community; caring and doing for others - each is a true role model! They deserve the award and they deserve a night of celebration. In their honor, and with concern for all of our neighbors' health and safety - we felt that the best thing to do was wait until the fall.

The entire NCCJ team hopes that you, your family and friends are doing as well as possible during these challenging times. It may not be the right time to host a banquet, but it is the time for us to show caring in different ways. Help a neighbor - especially a senior citizen. Support someone in need.  It is in these difficult times that we often see more human connection, and the warmest and kindest regards between people -- even if it is virtual. And please, take care of yourself.

We appreciate your ongoing support of NCCJ and look forward to celebrating our Human Relations Award honorees together in September. If you have any questions regarding the banquet, please let us know. In the meantime, we hope you stay safe and healthy.

 - Cynthia L. Martin, President & CEO, and the entire NCCJ team
