To all our friends and colleagues,
Given the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to postpone our Human Relations Award Banquet from June 10th to Thursday, October 29th.
We are truly saddened to postpone celebrating our wonderful honorees: Jane Albert, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Communications & External Communications, Baystate Health; Jerald Jay Griffin, Program Chairman, Stone Soul, Inc.; Gumersindo Gomez, Executive Director, VA/VVA Accredited Service Officer, Bilingual Veterans Outreach Centers of MA, Inc, and Adam Gomez, Springfield City Councilor & Property Manager/Program Service Coordinator, Bilingual Veterans Outreach Centers of MA, Inc.; Denise Jordan, Executive Director, Springfield Housing Authority; and Paul Lambert, Vice President of Enshrinement, Services & Community Engagement, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Each of this year's honorees matches the values of NCCJ: advancing equality, promoting justice; building community; caring and doing for others - each is a true role model! They deserve the award and they deserve a night of celebration. In their honor, and with concern for all of our neighbors' health and safety - we felt that the best thing to do was wait until the fall.
The entire NCCJ team hopes that you, your family and friends are doing as well as possible during these challenging times. It may not be the right time to host a banquet, but it is the time for us to show caring in different ways. Help a neighbor - especially a senior citizen. Support someone in need. It is in these difficult times that we often see more human connection, and the warmest and kindest regards between people -- even if it is virtual. And please, take care of yourself.
We appreciate your ongoing support of NCCJ and look forward to celebrating our Human Relations Award honorees together in October. If you have any questions regarding the banquet, please let us know. In the meantime, we hope you stay safe and healthy.
Cynthia L. Martin, President & CEO,
and the entire NCCJ team
